GPZ Technologies, Inc., a California-based technology firm originally registered the domain name GPZ.COM in 1996. After years of continuous use as its corporate domain name, the domain was hijacked by a Russian individual, presumably due to its valuable nature. UDRPro successfully presented common law rights in the name GPZ, along with evidence of business sales and recognition over the years. In addition, the respondent’s non-use, and strong evidence suggesting that the domain name was hacked and stolen from the complainant led to a favorable decision for our client.
